MY ODYSSEY YEARS follows HAOLAN’s creative journey through songwriting, recording, arrangement, visual production, and live performance. The project brings together works created across different moments of his life — released songs, unreleased material, rewritten pieces, and music returning in new forms.
Rather than treating the “odyssey” as a journey toward a final destination, the project embraces uncertainty, change, and discovery. Personal memory, distance, hesitation, and questions about time become part of an ongoing creative process.
FROM RECORD TO STAGE
SONGS RETURN IN NEW FORMS.
MY ODYSSEY YEARS brings songs created at different stages of HAOLAN’s life back into a live setting. Released works, unreleased material, rewritten songs, and reinterpreted pieces are placed together in one performance, allowing them to shift again through arrangement, instrumentation, and collaboration.
Rather than reproducing the recordings exactly, the live show gives each work another form. Songs shaped privately through writing and recording return through a full band, turning personal material into a shared experience between artist, musicians, and audience.
THE SONGS
TEN SONGS, ONE SHARED EVENING.
The live show brings together ten works from different stages of HAOLAN’s creative journey. The set includes released songs such as Ship of Fools, Rewrite a Love Song, Love Like Clouds, If Only Someone Understood, and Don’t Think Too Much, alongside unreleased works including Disconnected Route, Reverse Social Clock, and MY ODYSSEY YEARS.
Songs written at different moments — old works, new material, unfinished ideas, and personal favorites — are placed side by side. Together, they form less of a retrospective than a moving portrait of an artist still writing, revising, and becoming.

A COMPLETE EVENING IN MOTION.
On September 26, 2026, HAOLAN: MY ODYSSEY YEARS EP RELEASE SHOW brought the project to the stage at Nublu in New York. With a full band, the performance transformed material developed through songwriting, recording, and visual production into a shared live experience.
The evening was designed not only as a sequence of songs, but as an encounter between music, memory, process, and audience. Between performance segments, HAOLAN reflected on how the works were written, rewritten, recorded, and reshaped — revealing parts of the creative process that usually remain outside the spotlight.

On September 26, HAOLAN brought MY ODYSSEY YEARS to Nublu in New York for a full-band EP release show. Ten songs from different stages of his creative journey came together in one evening — released works, unreleased material, rewritten songs, and pieces returning in new forms.
More than a sequence of performances, the night opened a space between the songs. Through conversation, live arrangement, and shared reflection, the audience was invited into the process behind the work — from songwriting and recording to visual production and the moments of uncertainty that shaped the project.

Performed with a full band, the songs moved beyond their recorded forms and responded to the energy of the room. Familiar material shifted through live arrangement, musicianship, and the immediacy of performance.
